Vineyard Methodist School offers primary education (Grades 1–6), which represents the initial stage of compulsory education in Thailand. The program emphasizes foundational skills in reading, writing, numeracy, basic thinking, communication, social learning processes, and the development of essential human values. The school aims to promote a well-rounded and balanced quality of life—physically, intellectually, emotionally, socially, and culturally—through a learning approach that fosters critical thinking in accordance with the Thinking School framework.
Instruction is organized in accordance with the Basic Education Core Curriculum B.E. 2551 (A.D. 2008), revised in B.E. 2560 (A.D. 2017), and adapted to suit the school’s context, educational priorities, and student needs. Students attend eight 50-minute class periods per day, with subjects divided into eight learning areas and student development activities.
The School-Based Curriculum of Vineyard Methodist School (Revised Edition, B.E. 2568) was developed in alignment with the Basic Education Core Curriculum B.E. 2551 (Revised B.E. 2560). It provides clear guidance for teachers and all stakeholders in implementing the curriculum. The curriculum structure is organized into two main parts:
1. Time Allocation Structure
The curriculum outlines the time allocation for each primary grade, showing the overall hours dedicated to the eight core learning areas, additional subjects, and student development activities. This structure ensures appropriate balance across all grades.
2. Grade-Level Curriculum Structure
The curriculum specifies the breakdown of instructional time by grade level, detailing the hours allocated for core subjects, additional subjects/activities, and student development activities.
